Suggest a Purchase in Libby

Can't find what you are looking for in our digital collection?  Ask Libby to Notify You if and when we acqurie it. We regularly consider books with Notify Me tags, and if they fit within our selection criteria and budget, we do our best to purchase them.

Step One:
Whenever a search in Libby has too few results, Libby will automatically include items that the library does not own, but could purchase, in your search results. You'll know this is happening because you'll see the "Deep Search" filter.

Step Two:
These items will have a "Notify Me" option in place of the usual "Borrow" option. Select "Notify Me" to request an item.

Step Three:
You'll see a pop up explaining that the library does not own this item, but if you label it "Notify Me," you'll be notified if the library purchases it in the future. Tap the plus sign next to "Smart Tag: Notify Me" to add this label.

Step Four:
You may be prompted to specify how Libby should let you know if a title becomes available- whether by email, a shelf notice within the Libby app, or no notification at all...

Step Five:
You'll know your request has gone through because a bell icon will appear next to your requested item.

Step Six:
As long as you've set up notifications in Libby, you'll be notified if the item you requested is purchased. However, the item will not be automatically placed on hold for you. Once an item is purchased, the "Notify Me" option will be replaced with the normal "Borrow" option, and you will be able to borrow or hold it!
