William Shakespeare’s poetry comes alive in “Encounter Shakespeare!” an event celebrating the music, rhythm and vibrancy of the English language’s greatest playwright.
Actor Eric Nyquist will offer an interactive solo performance focused on understanding Shakespeare’s language. The Library’s MakerSpace will lead activities in bookbinding and crafting wax seals. And Image Comics’ artist and illustrator Ronald Wimberly will give a talk on his graphic novel, Prince of Cats, a contemporary adaptation of Romeo and Juliet set in 1980s New York City.
Members of Connecticut Free Shakespeare will also provide pop-up workshops in movement and language throughout the morning.
