Visit the Children's Library: Home

Visit the Children's Library by Appointment

For the safety of all of our patrons and staff, starting on August 17, The Westport Children's Library will be taking appointments with limited walk-ins allowed. A family or cohort of up to 5 people will have the Children's Library all to themselves for up to 30 minutes for book browsing, readers advisory and reference help. If they leave before the 30 minutes, walk-ins can book the remaining time. So we can accommodate everyone who wants to visit, please only select one slot per week. Upon arrival, please check in with one of our Youth Services Librarians in the Front Lobby.

Children under age 12 must remain with an adult at all times.

Books, Audio Books, Music CDs and Magazines can be borrowed at this time. For the safety of all of our patrons, the Computer area, the Toddler Area, Higgins Program Room and Game Room will remain closed until further notice.

Please help us keep our staff and the community safe by:

  • Requiring all patrons to wear masks that cover nose and mouth (Mandatory to enter the building)
  • Staying home if you're experiencing symptoms of any illness.
  • Washing or sanitizing your hands frequently.
  • Maintaining a distance of at least six feet from staff and other patrons.
  • Keeping your visit to the Library short to allow other patrons to enjoy use of the Library.
  • Following the instructions of Library staff.

Thank you for reviewing our Phase Two Reopening Procedures before coming.
