Image result for jane austenJane Austen was born on Saturday, December 16, 1775 in Hampshire, England at the Steventon Rectory. Her parents were Reverend Mr. George Austen and Cassandra (Leigh) Austen. She was the seventh of 8 children, and the second girl. Her siblings in order were James, George, Edward, Henry, Cassandra, Francis, and Charles.

While Austen wrote primarily novels about romance and marriage, she never married nor had children. During her life she published four novels: Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Emma. Her other two novels, Persuasion and Northanger Abbey, were published after her death.
